Active Kids Get Cooking
Breakfast is a very important meal which we all need to eat, everyday. Breakfast provides us with energy so we can concentrate, work and be active. Eating a healthy breakfast can help keep us full throughout the morning and it’s a great way to get some of our 5 A DAY, as well as other important nutrients.
The challenge this year is based on breakfast:
Taking inspiration from breakfasts around the world, create a ‘spectacular breakfast’ for a special occasion which demonstrates your food skills and techniques.
The judges will be looking for entries which:
are creative; demonstrate a range of food skills and techniques; follow healthy eating guidelines and include a drink; use foods from at least 3 of the main food groups from the eatwell plate
All entries must have: recipe name(s); at least one photograph of the final dish(es); a list of the ingredients used; a list of the equipment used; the method; an explanation of the food skills and techniques you have demonstrated and where the idea for your breakfast came from.
